Within The Ruins Announces New Album 'Phenomena'

Earlier today, Within The Ruins, announced their new album Phenomena will release on July 22, 2014. This album follows their highly acclaimed 2013 release, Elite.

Here is the official announcement made by the band via their Facebook,

"WITHIN THE RUINS ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM DETAILS

PHENOMENA TO BE RELEASED 7/22/14

New England veterans WITHIN THE RUINS have announced the release of their fourth LP, PHENOMENA out July 22, 2014. The new effort will be the followup to the highly successful Elite full length released early last year. Elite was well received, Decibel Magazine called their sound "brutal yet harmonious, two traits few bands nowadays can handle simultaneously.” Metal Hammer plainly stated, "Precise, brutal and bursting with great songs, this fucking rips."

“We took six months off over the winter too eat, sleep and breath this album. It was by far the most in depth we've ever gone in the writing process. ” says guitarist Joe Cocchi. Within the Ruins recently posted an exclusive studio report with Gear Gods that sheds more light on the blood, sweat and tears the band has poured into this release. Cocchi continues, "Since the inception of this band our attitude has always been to completely trump our previous efforts in every aspect, and I think we did just that. We're beyond stoked for people to hear this one."

The band just wrapped up dates supporting Whitechapel and Carnifex, highlighted by a knockout performance at the 2014 NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL. Within The Ruins just announced a headlining string of dates with LORNA SHORE and will supporting MORBID ANGEL, THE FACELESS, GOATWHORE and more on this year's SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR."

I'm really pumped for new Within The Ruins, but I'm hoping this album was a push from the record label. Fans have seen in the past that labels push bands to produce albums on a two year (or yearly) basis. Which then degrades the band's music, thus making the albums released consecutively sound worse and worse.
