Band: Confront The Carnage

Q: Where does the band name
"Confront the Carnage" come from?
Originally we were "Confront the Elders" referring to the idea of overcoming the higher power and stealing the title, like sith in the Star Wars franchise. but then we brought up carnage instead which had a better sound to it and a more positive meaning; to face the "carnage" that awaits you and fight instead of backing down.
Q: Your band has a lot of genres; post-grindcore, deathcore, slamming-death, etc. Why do you use so many elements in your music?
We try and keep our songs unique from each other, using small similarities of tone and vibe but have each one individually sounding so each song is as enjoyable to listen to as the next. We also try to include areas and sounds of all these extreme metal genres to obtain all-round heaviness in our music.
Q: What are some bands that influence your music?
When first writing our recent songs we have been influenced by the obvious heavy deathcore bands like Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Thy Art is Murder, Ingested, Chelsea Grin etc. but when we've talked about structure and a way we can portray a riff or song we've been influenced with more bands like Lamb of God, Sylosis, The Contortionist or even Red Hot Chilli Peppers, so we can capture that memorable, captivating sound that helps the audience enjoy and recall our songs.
Q: If you could be signed to any record label, which label would that be and why?

We would probably have to say
Nuclear Blast because they have a very high standard of bands on their label
and we would love to join the list! Also because I mean you have heard Children
of Bodoms latest album? They have some top quality producers to work with and
just to have opportunity to work with such top level guys would be insane
Q: You shared the stage with dozens of bands, which band has been your favorite to play with?
The best and favorite of ours has to be the recent gig in Reading with the bands Martyr Defiled, Here Comes The Kraken and Thy Art is Murder. just being in the presence of such metal masters was unreal and granted us good experience in playing with such names.
Another band we enjoy playing with are A Trust Unclean. hands down the heaviest band in the UK we've heard along with Bound by Exile, Acrania and Ingested and they're also the most hilarious and safe guys we've met while gigging.
Q: What are your plans for this year?
Finish off recording our debut Demo EP with Jake Fields (our bassist), keep gigging to unleash our sound on more of the UK and gain a bigger fan-base. Also if we have the chance plan on contributing to a Split Album with another underground deathcore band.
Q: Do you have any shout outs to give?Actually yes, since we started playing bigger and better shows we have had some help on the side so I would like to give a big shout out to Max Whiting our drum tech, he helps me (Jake) run the drum sessions when we are recording and is our drum tech for gigs, he’s a massive help and would love to show our appreciation to him. Band’s wise, we mentioned them earlier, shout out to A Trust Unclean, they should be signed they are just that level, can’t wait to buy their new release!
