Wherever They Fall's first single "Lo And Behold" is their introduction to the deathcore/metalcore scene. It is three minutes and 57 seconds long, so roughly four minutes. It starts off with fading in and out noises, but breaks out with a harp being played in the background overlapped with normal deathcore instrumentals. At around 1:00, the pace of the instrumentals speed up. There are small breaks throughout the song, one being a small breakdown. Singing comes in at 1:45, which is actually really good singing, however it transitions back into screams and its normal sound quickly thereafter. The pace slows down at 3:00 to have an opening to focus on the screams, which then turns into a breakdown. That breakdown then leads into a larger breakdown to end off the song.
"Lo And Behold" is pretty good. They mix the typical deathcore sound with clean singing, kind of similar to what In Dying Arms does. There is only one part with singing in it, so it isn't overdone in any way. I think this was a smart move on Where They Fall's part, because typically deathcore fans are not fans of clean singing, so if they only put in one small part of it, it shouldn't really do harm to the song. This is the case for this song. I look forward to what they have in store for the rest of the year with their upcoming EP. Check this out if you're a fan of In Dying Arms or just a fan of deathcore.
