Interview with Exiler!

Genre(s): Deathcore
Location: San Antonio, TX

PSAB: Why did you choose the name "Exiler" for your band?

Exiler: We're honestly not sure. The name was chosen long ago (back in '11) when we I was in 5th grade. Trey (old vocalist) came up with the name outcaster, and then we decided exiler seemed cooler. Zack (current vocalist) liked the name so we just kept it.

PSAB: When can we expect your new album The Awakening to drop this summer? Late in August?

Exiler: The album should drop in mid June-early July.

PSAB: You're currently unsigned, if you could be signed to any record label, which label would that be and why?

Exiler: Definitely either Metal Blade, or We Are Triumphant. They both have the sickest/heaviest bands, and they're really great guys.

PSAB: What is the local metal scene like in San Antonio, TX?

Exiler: Horrible. When people say they like metal, they're talking about Black Veil Brides and Blood on the Dance Floor. Sometimes they'll say Bring Me the Horizon, yet they'll only know/like Sempiternal. (IMO, I miss the 2006 deathcore sound.)

PSAB: Which bands play the most influence on your music?

Exiler: Make Them Suffer, Veil of Maya, Despised Icon, Thy Art is Murder, Born of Osiris, AngelMaker, Dealey Plaza and Infant Annihilator.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give to the readers out there?

Exiler: Follow your dreams. Even if you're at a young age, start a band or do what you want with your life. Because no one else can change you.
