Interview with Cadence Calling!

Genre(s): Metalcore
Location: Toronto, ON
PSAB: Why did you choose the name "Cadence Calling" for your band?

CC: We chose Cadence Calling as our band name first and foremost because we thought it sounded cool. Also in musical terminology the cadence is the end of a phrase in music so we took that concept, applied it to the name and came up with "the end" Calling as a general apocalyptic theme and feel for the band.

PSAB: You recently released a single "Post Mortem." How was the feedback for that song? Also, we can expect new material from you?

CC: The feedback for Post Mortem has been great! Theres been a lot of positive comments and virtually no hate towards it. People seem to really like it which is fantastic! We trying to release our upcoming EP this summer so stay tuned for that.

PSAB: Why did you chose to play the type of metal that you do?

CC: We chose to play this style of metal because its what we grew up listening to as kids so naturally we decided to create a band with that sort of sound.

PSAB: What is the local metal scene like in Toronto, ON?

CC: The local scene in Toronto is not what it should be. In our opinion and probably in the opinion of other local bands there's not enough kids or promotion to keep the local scene thriving. Its a little disappointing when you go play a show and the only people your playing to are the people you brought out. At the same time this is our hometown and like playing here , we just want to see the scene grow!

PSAB: What has played the most influence on your music? This can be non-music related.

CC: This may seem like a cop out answer because we are not giving any specifics but the most influence that plays into our sound are simply bands that we are really into at the time of writing/recording our music. I can say we all really enjoy and look up to the Metalcore band August Burns Red.

PSAB: Have any shout outs to give to the readers out there?

CC: For anyone who has enjoyed our music we thank you so much and keep on the look out for upcoming shows, merch and our EP. Get Stoked!
