Interview with Dawn Vally!

Genre(s): Deathcore/Hardcore
Location: Toronto, Ontario

PSAB: Where does the band name "Dawn Vally" come from?

DV: Most of us do construction in the band for work an we are constantly driving along the Don Valley Parkway.  We came up with the name one day on our drive home an figured we'd call ourselves Dawn Vally to rep Toronto, there is no "e" in Vally so it's easy to find us online.

PSAB: How was the feedback when you released Just Pleaser? How has the feedback been?

DV: The feedback was surprisingly good for us. It took us just under a year to get everything together for the Just Pleaser release, with guitarist changes an funds. But when it finally came out people were really stoked. Since then we've been trying to get ourselves out to all the towns an cities we can so they can have a taste too.

PSAB: What are you hobbies outside of creating music?

DV: We play video games. We also like to sit around an see who can come up with the better TV show concept.

PSAB: How is the metal scene in your area?

DV: Metal scene is pretty lively in Toronto. Don't get us wrong it can be a harsh place but these kids want their metal an they are gonna get anyway they can. The energy at some of these shows are just insane an most of them are just little local shows.

PSAB: What has played the most influence on your music? This can be non-music related.

DV: For us, we like you use the influences in our lives to kinda of tell our story, weather they be good or bad times.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give?

DV: Hell yea, shout outs to Drag The Lake, Mirrilia an Continent.

Answered by Jeff, bassist of Dawn Vally.
