Interview with Death And Healing!

Genre(s): Death Metal
Location: Carmel, NY

PSAB: Why did you choose the name "Death and Healing" for your band name?

DAH: Well, our primary songwriter/vocalist/guitarist of the band Will is really into the band "Wintersun" and we derived our name out of one of their songs titled "Death and the Healing". We just made it "Death and Healing". The concept of the name is basically exactly as it sounds. Pretty much coping with death but hey, you could interpret it any way you want.

PSAB: When can we expect new music from you?

DAH: You can expect new music from us fairly soon. We actually just finished a new song entitled "No one Goes to Heaven". It's pretty "thrashy" sounding even though we're a melodic death metal band but, if you want to get real technical, you could say we're a melodic death metal band with black metal and thrash metal influence.

PSAB: If you had the choice to have a musician featured on one of your tracks. Which musician would that be and why?

DAH: That's hard to answer because there are so many great musicians and a lot of us would choose ones that aren't living and some of us like a lot of musicians who aren't even in the metal genre. So to be honest, can't say.

PSAB: What is the metal scene like in Carmel, NY?

DAH: The metal scene in Carmel, NY is not bad but, it's not great. For example, there aren't too many "local, local" shows but, when there are, they're pretty rad so, we can't complain. We're actually the only death metal band from Carmel. Most of the locals are just rock, alternative, pop punk etc... but we all get along and respect each other and that's the way it should be honestly.

PSAB: What are three bands that play the most influence on your music?

DAH: 3 bands that have the most influence on our music specifically would probably be Wintersun, The Black Dahlia Murder and Metallica. Most of ourselves however actually have a very open music taste and there are plenty of bands and musicians that made us want to pick up our instruments in the first place.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give to your fans, and the readers out there?

DAH: We just want to say thank you to all of our fans. Thank you to anyone supporting us and that you should all be on the lookout for more of our material to be uploaded for you guys to listen to and new material as well!
