Interview with Vessel For Tomorrow!

Band: Vessel For Tomorrow
Genre: Metalcore

Q: Why did you choose the name "Vessel For Tomorrow" for your band name?

We used to be under a different name but we were commonly mistaken for another band with a similar name. So we just changed it to something that stood out more and didn't sound like a cliche generic hardcore band name.

Q: You're a "do it yourself" band; booking, graphic design, promotion, production, etc. Why did you choose this instead the normal route?

Cheaper. Haha and each member has something unique they can bring to the band so we're all able to come together and make this band function on its own. At the end of the day, you have more of that "wow, we did this ourselves" feeling. We like to work hard. The only way labels will notice you is if you put in the time, money, blood, sweat, etc.

Q: What is the local metal scene like in North Branch?

There isn't. Haha our style isn't the norm where we're from but we do have our hometown support!

Q: What bands did you listen to growing up, and do any of those bands play an influence in your music?

We all listened to punk bands before anything. Green Day and Blink 182. Avenged Sevenfold was the band that brought every member into the metal scene. They have influenced us all in the way we play, however the sound that VFT is creating is more influenced by A Day to Remember, Breaking Benjamin, and Life on Repeat. Hard rock, yet we throw some heavy riffs and breakdowns in there.

Q: If you could play with any band ever, broken up or not, which band would that be?

Memphis may fire, Crown the Empire, and Bring Me the Horizon are some bands that have had a huge impact of certain members lives, so touring with them would be something we could only dream of doing.

Q: What are your immediate plans for this year?

Finish and release our album to all the beautiful people who support us and for those who haven't heard us! Then try and land a spot on a Midwest tour over the summer so that more people can hear our tracks and what we stand for.

Q: Do you have any shout outs to give?

Shout out to all the people who just liked us on Facebook/listened to our music or came out to a show to support us. We care about our fans tremendously. And for being formed of seniors and juniors from high school, that just goes to show how amazing our fans truly are. As cliche as it sounds, we wouldn't be here without them.
