Interview with Villisca!

Band: Villisca
Genre: Deathcore / Death Metal

Q: Where does the band name "Villisca" come from exactly?

A small town in Iowa that had a brutal ax murder that went unsolved to this day. We thought it sounded cool. Plus Metallica was already taken.

Q: When did you get the motivation to start creating music? Was this at random or were there events leading up to it?

Well, we all started in band that went nowhere and eventually found each other that way. Two of us actually left bands to be in Villisca.

Q: What is the local metal scene like in Richmond, Indiana?

It is comparable to the great depression of the 1920's. Sadly we came to play music at the end of our scene. We are always hopeful that a revival will come and get shows back in our area. For now we are playing everywhere we can.

Q: A Day Late Booking and Artist Management is your management team. How has the experience been working with them?

At this point in in music career We are glad to have a stepping stone to build on like ADAYLATE. Getting shows is more difficult than most people would think so we are grateful for all the help we can get.

Q: What plays an influence on your music the most? This could be anything, not just bands.

anger, republicans, being poor, Whitechapel, Impending Doom, sounding raw, the year 2007 in music, The Black Dahlia Murder, double chocolate yoohoo, Cannibal Corpse, and magic tricks.

Q: What are your plans or the rest of this year?

We will be hitting the studio June 29th to record our debut EP "Collections of a Frail and Fragile Mind", which we are shooting for an end of the summer release. Playing shows of course constantly. Writing for our full length for next year. TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION. Stuff like that.

Q: Do you have any shout outs to give?

We would like to thank (our drummer) Michaels parents for letting us use their house to practice. Thanks to Kill Kingsley, Into the Divine, Archives of the Dreamer, and  Foreveratlast these aren't all deathcore bands but they have graced the stage with us they have awesome music that everyone should check out and we would love to share the stage again.
