Surrender To Suffering - Purgatory Rising [REVIEW]

Genre: Deathcore / Metalcore

Surrender To Suffering's recently released single, "Purgatory Rising" is roughly two minutes and 50 seconds in length. It starts out with a drum and guitar rhythm that really hits you, and soon thereafter vocals break in. After the vocals break in, the guitar chugging comes in and continues until about 1:00. It then changes to a more rhythmic sound. There is a single breakdown, which is at 2:10 in the song. The vocals in this song sound more like something you would hear in a hardcore song than what you would hear in a deathcore/metalcore song.

This single is the step in the right direction for Surrender To Suffering, however I think it is too short to make a "real" judgement on what Surrender To Suffering really sounds like. From this track alone, they sound like the typical metalcore/deathcore band you would hear anywhere else.

Score: 2.5 / 5
