Genre(s): Deathcore
Perplexity's single "Life Is Death" is as heavy as deathcore can get. It has brutal sounding vocals, mostly high screams and low screams. The high screams, I think, could use some improvement. The low screams are good, and they sound more like a guttural low scream combination. Instrumentally it sticks to a guitar chugging sound, but the way Perplexity does it, it sounds ridiculously heavy. The exception to this is near the end of the song, they throw in some melodic parts. Other than that, the audio quality of the song is average and I think it holds the song back a lot. With better audio quality, this song would sound a whole lot better and a lot more massive. The quality is the only gripe I have with this song, and I look forward to what Perplexity has in store in the future!
Score: 3.5/5
