Interview with Lane End!

Genre(s): Metalcore/Deathcore

PSAB: Where does the band name "Lane End" come from? Does it hold any significance to any band member?

LE: Since we're all fans of Parkway Drive (excluding our drummer Bailey) we decided to use their way of picking out a band name via using the name of a street or something similar. Thus we picked "Lane End" as Adi (Rhythm guitar) lived near a place named Lane End and we believed it to be our best bet.

PSAB: What is the local metal scene like in Mevagissey?

LE: There is no local metal scene in Mevagissey as we're the only metal band from there! It's a very small fishing village in Cornwall. The scene is Cornwall however isn't brilliant, there are plenty of great local bands with dwindling amounts of venues. We have to push out to surrounding counties more, like Devon.

PSAB: What bands have played the most influence on your music?

LE: The most influence has to be Parkway Drive. However recently we've become less influenced by them and more influence from Death-core bands is pouring in. Mainly Thy Art Is Murder. We also draw influence from Northlane and Bury Tomorrow as well.

PSAB: If you could bring one band back from being broken up, which band would that be and why?

LE: We'd bring back Pantera. Pantera are so aggressive and they would be amazing to see live. They also write extremely long breakdowns which are awesome! They are a massive loss. Many a time have we considered covering them and we may do in future.

PSAB: What are your plans for the upcoming spring and summer?

LE: Currently nothing as we've nothing booked as of yet! Hopefully gigs and more recordings would be what we'd get for those periods.
PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give to the readers?

LE: Check out our page and look for our debut single "In Dedication Too...." which we will be recording early February! and if you're from the Cornwall area check us live on the 6th of February at Live Wire, Saltash! Cheers!
