Interview with Leaving Her Breathless!

Genre(s): Metalcore

PSAB: Where does the band name "Leaving Her Breathless" come from? Does it hold any special significance to one of the band members?

LHB: Our guitarist Kim "Shrike" came up with the name when we formed the band back in 2012. The name comes from a tragic story about a girl who he knows who got molested a few years back. Our song "Sins" is about this story.

PSAB: You genre yourself as 'ghostcore.' Can you explain what 'ghostcore' is and/or what makes 'ghostcore'?

LHB: Ghost, metalcore with focus on the horror theme. It's all about the horror actually. Everything from the music to the live performance. We want to give people the same feeling that they would get from the music in a horror film but with a mixture of metal.

PSAB: What band has played the most influence on your music and why?

LHB: We're trying not to get too much influences from other bands, we want to be just us, create our own signature sound for Leaving Her Breathless. But Motionless In White and Betraying The Martyrs are kinda role models to us.

PSAB: What is the local metal scene like in Jonkoping?

LHB: In present day the metal scene in Jonkoping is pretty dead, there's not many metal bands here right now. A few years back here was a pretty big festival called Jonkoping Hardcore that attracted a lot of different metal/hardcore bands... But not anymore.

PSAB: When can we expect the new EP from you guys? Sometime this year?

LHB: Yea, we're planning on going in to the studio as soon as possible and have the EP done some time before summer.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give to the readers out there?

LHB: Thanks for the support so far all of our current fans! Hopefully there's a lot new ones out there as well! Thanks to Pig Squeals And Breakdowns for promoting us! Stay metal and make 2014 the most ghostcore year so far!
