Interview with BillionDollarMan!

Genre(s): Metalcore
Location: Mariestad/Skövde

PSAB: Why did you choose "BillionDollarMan" for your band name?

BDM: Well I'm sorry to say that we have no good answer to why we chose that for our band name, maybe because it's a bit unusual and therefore it might be easier to remember. But it doesn't stand for anything specific, it has no meaning to us it's just a name.

PSAB: When can we expect your new album Ruins? Possibly sometime this year?

BDM: Hopefully we'll be able to release it sometime very soon, maybe early September. We've had a lot of unexpected problems and difficulties in the band under this recording with bandmembers quitting the band and problems with the studio we were planning on recording vocals at, but we have also changed very much in our style and sound. So that's why it has been so delayed.

From the beginning we were planning on just release one single song almost right after the "Betrayer" EP we released early 2013 but as we started working on these new songs we felt that we got so much material so fast that we wanted to do a new EP.

PSAB: How was your first experience playing in front of a live audience? Were you nervous?

BDM: I guess no one remember the exact feelings but of course we were nervous, the only thing we can say for sure is that we all loved it and felt like this is what we were made to do. Playing live is definitly one of the best things we know, and we keep pushing ourselves to become a better band on stage.

PSAB: What is the local metal scene like in Mariestad?

BDM: The metal scene in the Mariestad area is not big at all, we are actually aiming for the bigger cities like Gothenburg and Stockholm and of course we want to go outside Sweden. We are not playing so much in out hometown area just because of the fact that the metal scene isn't that big here. We will do our first european tour this fall.

PSAB: If you had the choice to pick any musician to feature on one your songs. Which musician would that be?

BDM: Okay well, that of course is a very hard question as well, I mean there's so many great musicians and artists in this world. But I guess if we would have anyone guesting on our songs it would be a vocalist, so at least in my opinion I would say Phil Bozeman from Whitechapel. He's just an amazing vocalist with a great range and a awesome sound.

All questions answered by Oscar Andreason, vocalist of BillionDollarMan.
