Interview with Street To The Ocean!

Genre(s): Metalcore
Location: Wien

PSAB: Why did you choose the name „Street to the Ocean“ for your band?

STTO: When we were looking for a name one of our guitar players came up with “Street to the Ocean” . We’ve chosen it because it’s an easy name to remember and it’s very neutral. It doesn’t sound negative but also not really positive and you can’t have any prejudices in regard to our lyrics, playing style etc. when you’re hearing our name. Oh and of course it sounds good in our opinion haha!

PSAB: What are your plans for this Fall season?

STTO: In July and August we’ve recorded our new EP called “Mirror” and shot a music video for one of the tracks. So we’re planning to release both in early Fall. Apart from playing a few shows we will begin writing new songs for our first full length album.

PSAB: If you had the chance to tour any country. Which country would that be?

STTO: We’d love to tour everywhere outside of Europe because it would be a new experience  but  we all agree that a dream would become true for us if we ever could tour in the USA.

PSAB: How is the metal scene in your area?

STTO: We have a lot of fans of this genre and also a lot of talented upcoming metal bands. Luckily there are enough promoters and locations which are very interested in pushing the scene forwards so it can stay alive!

PSAB: What are the top five bands that have played the most influence on your music?

STTO: Bands like Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside and Bury Tomorrow have a huge influence on our instrument playing style. Our vocalist is mostly influenced by bands like Heaven Shall Burn or All That Remains.

PSAB: Have any shout outs to give?

STTO: We’re glad that pages like this are existing which are promoting underground bands and not only the well-known. We also really want to thank our fans, families and friends for supporting us. Without them we wouldn’t be there,  where we are today.
