Interview with David Hasselhoff On Acid!

Band: David Hasselhoff On Acid
Genre: Experimental / Progressive

Q: Where did the band name "David Hasselhoff On Acid" come from?

Well, our drummer has these cazy flashbacks every time he trips acid. Zach and David Hasselhoff are in their mothers womb. They are twin brothers. All of a sudden tongs and pokers start stabbing and ripping Zach's poor little body apart. As Zachs little soul witnesses his own abortion, David Hasselehoffs life unfolds before Zach's eyes. Knight rider, Baywatch...the Berlin wall. So ....basically drugs and music

Q: You've played with a lot of big-name bands: Animals As Leaders, The Faceless, and The Dillinger Escape Plan. Which band has been your favorite to play with thus far?

Yeah we have had a chance to play with a lot of amazing bands. Animals As Leaders was definitely a highlight, especially since that tour also had Intronaut, Evan Brewer, and Last Chance to Reason on it. We are fans of all those bands, but I think The Dillinger Escape Plan takes the cake. We have been listening to them  for over a decade now and to finally share a stage with them and have them buy your merch and like your music is very surreal.

Q: What is the local metal scene like in Kansas City, KS?

We love our scene. Not just the metal scene but the KC music scene in general. All the bands are friends so there is no competition. We just play music, hang out and have fun. We have great bands like At the Left Hand of God, Hammerlord, Moire, and of course Coalesce.

Q: If you could play with any band live, broken up or not, which band would it be and why?

Pearl Jam...and your mother

Q: What bands play an influence on your music the most and why?

Bands that push boundaries and are always trying to get better. Right now for us it's bands like Animals As Leaders, Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan and underground bands like Consider the Source, Dysrythmia, and Scale the Summit.

Q: What are your plans for this summer?

We are releasing our second album titled Eudaimonia and are planning on doing a couple of small tours. And of course getting really high.

Q: Do you have any shout outs to give?

We would like to give a shout out to anyone who has ever come to one of our shows, bought merch, or helped us out in any way or form. Also a shout out to Pig Squeals And Breakdowns for interviewing us even though we are instrumental. Thank you!
