Interview with Drop of Fire!

Genre(s): Melodic Metalcore
Location: Warsaw

PSAB: Why did you choose the name "Drop of Fire" for your band?

DOF: It’s a long story. Our guitar player, Yorki, was playing in death metal band but he always loved melodic riffs. He started his first band and called it „Fire Drop”, but after a few rehearsals the band split up. Then he was playing in a couple death metal bands, which is very common genre in Poland. Turning point was when he heard Trivium’s „Ascendancy” album and then he decided to form up a new band and he calls it „Drop of Fire” in memory of his first band. That’s pretty much the whole history.

PSAB: When can we expect new music from you? Early 2015?

DOF: Yeah, January is very realistic date. Our album is ready and we hope to release it at January 6th on our own. If you want to buy it, just check our facebook page after that date.

PSAB: If you could hold a metal show with five bands of your choice, which five bands would you choose?

DOF: It was very hard to chose but I think everyone of us would love to play with Trivium, Parkway Drive, In Flames, The Ghost Inside and of course with Decapitated.

PSAB: What are your plans for 2015?

DOF: Playing as many shows as it’s possible in Poland and maybe in Europe, promoting our record and we might write some new material at the end of the year.

PSAB: What plays the most influence on your music? This can be non-music related.

DOF: It’s hard to pick one, because it might be everything. Everything started from one movie. Everyone of us played before in death metal bands before, but everything changed after watching Roadrunner United All Star Session. We watched it for hundred times. That DVD changed everybodys perspective of playing music. We put as many melodies as it’s possible but also we are trying to get „higher level" everytime we write new stuff.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to the readers out there?

DOF: We would like to thank you guys for this interview and of course everyone that reads this interview. Check us out on facebook and thank you for all the support! If you like our music, just buy our upcoming record and see how we done it. It’s gonna kick your ass!
