Interview with Above Us The Waves!

Genre(s): Metalcore/Hardcore
Location: Kavala

PSAB: Why was the name "Above Us The Waves" chosen for your band?

AUTW: Well we live in a seaside city and we wanted a name that would connect us to the place we come from. The sea can make you feel hopeful and give you a sense of perspective but at the same time it can easily crash you. It’s this kind of contrast that inspires us..

PSAB: You released your album Anchors Aweight back in October of 2013. When can we expect a new album/EP?

AUTW: Right now we are working on new ideas for our second album! You can expect a single around Christmas and a new album by the end of 2015 if everything goes according to plan!

PSAB: If you had the choice to tour the country with two others bands; which two bands would those be?

AUTW: Easy one! Our label buddies Kin Beneath Chorus and Still Falling! Great bands, close friends and we have already did a tour once so we cant wait for another one! Make sure to check them out!

PSAB: How's the metal scene in Kavala?

AUTW: It used to be a really active scene during late 90s with bands like Nemesis and Windfall but the last years things have gone downhill. But I’m hopeful cause there are some promising bands that have just started out. It takes time and effort to build a scene in a small town and we do anything we can to help.

PSAB: What are your plans for the rest of the 2014 year?

AUTW: We have a show supporting one of our favorite bands, Unearth, then a few more dates in Greece and abroad (Sofia, Bucharest etc). In the meantime we will record a new song and shoot a music video and by the end of the year we will be solely focused on our new album!

PSAB: Have any shout outs to give?

AUTW: No, not really ahaha thank you for this interview!

  1. This time-honored audio world features actually an incredible number of items of bed sheet new music audio. As well as jazz? You will find a huge number of guide bedding, composed bedding, as well as finish parts for cello readily available. As well as Modern age? Just forget about the item.
