Interview with Sabella!

Genre(s): Metalcore/Hardcore
Location: Upstate, NY

PSAB: Where does the band name "Sabella" come from?

Sabella: Its an Italian cologne we all happen to wear coincidentally, like that's why we started being a band.

PSAB: You released your EP The Funeral back in September. How has the
feedback been for the EP?

Sabella: The feedback for the EP was actually surprising, for the little promotion and hype we were able to put into it after the initial release due to full-time jobs and member changes etc, we've received pretty excellent reactions and reviews from those we've spoke with and who have made mention about it. So we're very stoked on that, to know even when we've slowed down, it continued to organically spread and grow in itself which was pretty cool to see, and once again very surprising.

PSAB: If you could do a split album with one other band, which band would that be?

Sabella: Uhm, if we could do a split release with one other band, we as a whole probably say, Left behind or Young Graves. Both amazing dudes, doing amazing things, who are fucking killing it.

PSAB: What's the local metal scene in your area?

Sabella: We've had some pretty great shows in the past few years within our scene as well as some pretty bad ones haha, so its seen its prominent ups and downs for sure. But we're working to honestly try and keep it going. There are a lot of amazing and talented bands coming up in our area and neighboring areas.

PSAB: What hobbies do you have outside of playing in the band, and creating music?

Sabella: Smoking tons of weed, watching movies, hiking, sleeping, and traveling. Other than that, we're working or involved in music.

PSAB: Any shout outs to give?

Sabella: As far as bands go our dudes in Misgiver, Ambitions, & Armory Infirmary. On top of that, we really want to thank Amanda Carbaugh for taking almost all of our promotional pictures as well as helping us out in more ways than we could say, the beautiful Zach Jones with Royal house Studios out of VA,  who recorded and mastered our EP. Also wanna shout out wegmans and wai hai lu.

Interview with Above Us The Waves!

Genre(s): Metalcore/Hardcore
Location: Kavala

PSAB: Why was the name "Above Us The Waves" chosen for your band?

AUTW: Well we live in a seaside city and we wanted a name that would connect us to the place we come from. The sea can make you feel hopeful and give you a sense of perspective but at the same time it can easily crash you. It’s this kind of contrast that inspires us..

PSAB: You released your album Anchors Aweight back in October of 2013. When can we expect a new album/EP?

AUTW: Right now we are working on new ideas for our second album! You can expect a single around Christmas and a new album by the end of 2015 if everything goes according to plan!

PSAB: If you had the choice to tour the country with two others bands; which two bands would those be?

AUTW: Easy one! Our label buddies Kin Beneath Chorus and Still Falling! Great bands, close friends and we have already did a tour once so we cant wait for another one! Make sure to check them out!

PSAB: How's the metal scene in Kavala?

AUTW: It used to be a really active scene during late 90s with bands like Nemesis and Windfall but the last years things have gone downhill. But I’m hopeful cause there are some promising bands that have just started out. It takes time and effort to build a scene in a small town and we do anything we can to help.

PSAB: What are your plans for the rest of the 2014 year?

AUTW: We have a show supporting one of our favorite bands, Unearth, then a few more dates in Greece and abroad (Sofia, Bucharest etc). In the meantime we will record a new song and shoot a music video and by the end of the year we will be solely focused on our new album!

PSAB: Have any shout outs to give?

AUTW: No, not really ahaha thank you for this interview!

Enlaced By Tempest Releases New Song "Far Beyond Horizon"

German metalcore/hardcore band, Enlaced By Tempest, released a new song yesterday titled "Far Beyond Horizon." The song features Timo (can't seem to find who he is, or where he's from). The song taken from the band's debut EP Shattered Dreams & New Horizons; which released back on February 22, 2014. (I cannot find where to actually purchase the EP.) The song is more on the lines of hardcore/trash than metalcore/hardcore. If you're into fast paced sounding hardcore, give this a go!

Hollow Ground Releases New Song "Quandary"

Metalcore/Hardcore act Hollow Ground, released a new song recently titled "Quandary." This is a stand alone song, and is not taken from an upcoming album, at least to my knowledge. If you're into the heavier side of metalcore, basically bordering deathcore, give this a listen!

Rain Fall Grey releases new lyric video for new song "Der Flash"

Metalcore/hardcore act, Rain Fall Grey, released a new lyric video for a new song "Der Flash" sometime yesterday. The band is from Apple Valley, CA. The lyric video is something one usually doesn't see, as they take the lyrics that they have written on pieces of paper and show them over the camera. This is unlink most lyric videos you see often.
