Interview with Destination Morgue!

Genre(s): Metalcore
Location: Cadillac

PSAB: Where does the band name "Destination Morgue" come from exactly?

DM: The band name is the name of a murder mystery book by James Elroy. I (Evan) have read multiple books by this author and we also have a song named after his book Killer On The Road.

PSAB: What are your plans for the upcoming new year?

DM: Our local scene is very dedicated for how small of an area we are from in northern Michigan and all of the main cities are within a couple hours drive.

PSAB: If you had the choice to have a musician featured on one of your tracks. Which musician would that be and why?

DM: If we could have any musician featured on a track it would be narrowed down to either  Landon from The Plot In You or Alex from Chelsea Grin. Both have very unique vocal style and intense lyrical content.

PSAB: How's the metal scene in your area?

DM: Our plan for the New year is getting back to playing shows as soon as we enlist a new drummer as well as record New tracks that I have been writing on our time off.

PSAB: What has played the most influence on your music?

DM: Some of most important influences are bands we listen to and connect with. As we started off as a two piece with electronic drums, bands like The Browning and Isetmyfriendsonfire come to mind when using electro sounds. As we progressed and filled all empty spots in the line up, bands like Miss May I and the always classic Haste The Day played big influence on guitar riffs and song writing.

PSAB: Any shout outs to give?

DM: Shout outs to anyone who ever listened to us or came to a show and of course Damien at Volunteer Records and Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studios. No matter the journey, we all end up in the morgue!

Interview questions answered by Evan Day, guitarist/electronics of the band.
