Highly anticipated, and overly delayed album No Sleep by the progressive metal band, Volumes, dropped earlier today. This is the band's second full album following their very praised 2011 release Via. I'm still waiting for my copy of No Sleep to come in the mail to give it a listen to, but you don't have to! You can purchase it now here!

Volumes' Continues To Tease Their Fans
Progressive metal band, Volumes' has been teasing their fans for quite some time with their upcoming album No Sleep. With the band continually posting photos, pushing the album's release date back, and overall not providing much of anything with music to their fans (with the exception of the album teaser they released last month). Anyway, the band released the photo above yesterday, I'm assuming that's the title of the next single they'll release.
However, though I am a bit salty with the no new single or an official release date. I find myself on the side that their record label Mediaskare Records, is probably to blame. Fans have seen it countless times that a record label holds back an albums release, or makes it so it actually never comes out. But, at the end of today, this can simply be only my opinion on the manner.
Edit: As of this writing, Volumes' announced a new song ("The Mixture") and preorders for No Sleep will release tomorrow at 4:20 (EST).

Volumes releases teaser to their new album 'No Sleep'
Last night, djent band Volumes, released a teaser to long awaited album No Sleep, which is set to release sometime in the Summer around the time of Vans Warped Tour. This teaser release was released a day after the officially releasing of the album's cover. The band plans to release a new song in May from the album, so don't make quick judgement off of the teaser below.
The biggest difference I, and many others, can tell is that the teaser shows that Volumes decided to use more clean singing in their music. The singing is not similar to singing done in their album Via either. It seems the band is leaning towards a more progressive metal sound than the standard djent sound. I don't really have an opinion on it all until I hear a full song, but you can decide for yourself. Like it or hate it?

Volumes releases their "announcement"
Volumes teased their fans with a Facebook status update and a photo last Thursday, which hinted at some big news coming their way from the band. Alas, it wasn't (at least not by the standards I consider big news). The band, officially, releases the album cover to their upcoming new album No Sleep, which they say it will be out sometime around the dates of Warped Tour. Again, the band doesn't give a definite release date but stated this from their Facebook page,
"Volumes is proud to show you the artwork for our latest release "No Sleep" which will be released Summer 2014 (during Vans Warped Tour). We have been working tremendously hard on this album for the past year and we know that you all will think it is amazing.
Stay tuned when we debut a new song in May!!"
The only problem I have with this announcement is that the album cover leaked a month ago, and the band didn't acknowledge (or plainly ignored it) the leaking of it and continued on their way to present "new news" to their fans. As a fan of Volumes, I'm quite disappointed with this announcement but I do look forward to the new song in May (that's if they don't push that back as well).

Volumes teases fans with photo and Facebook status update
Fans of Volumes have been waiting a long time for new material from the band, ever since they released the pre-production song "Vahle" back in 2013 (about seven months ago). The band has continued to push the date back on their unnamed album, it was originally to release in winter of 2014, then pushed to spring, and now it is rumored to drop June 17, 2014. Anyway, I know fans and myself want something solid to go off of.
Today, Volumes posted that photo listed above with the Facebook status, "#VTEAM #420" which leads us to believe that they plan on announcing something new on Easter day. This could be a release date, new single, or a tour (don't care much for the latter). So, what do you think it is? I think any news is good news if it is in relation to the new album.

Volumes' new album cover and release of new album unofficially releases
This is currently still a rumor and it has not been confirmed by the band or their label; however, is it believed that this is the new album cover for Volumes' upcoming new album. Also, the title of the new album (also rumor) is No Sleep. Even though this is unofficial, it is nice to see some news about Volumes' new music, because they have been pretty quiet about it since the release of their song "Vahle."
It is also rumored the release date of this album will be June 17, 2014. If true, this is upsetting as a Volumes fan, because the band has changed the release date of their album over the course of six months twice thus far. Originally it was to release late Winter in 2014, but it was changed mid-Winter to late Spring in 2014. If the release date is actually true, on the positive side, I am glad to know there is an actual, official, release date.
