Interview with The Hollowing!

Genre(s): Deathcore
Location: Monrovia, CA

PSAB: Where does the band name "The Hollowing" come from exactly?

TH: The name "The Hollowing" comes from two meanings, the hollowing could mean being hollowed out like leaving behind a shell since we are heavily into questions of the afterlife and death and also it means having a hole in you whether it be lost love, lack of emotions or whatever you can take it as.

PSAB: When can we expect a new album from you? Early 2015?

TH: "The Conjuring" will be available December 15th through Itunes and Amazon by Afflicted Records. We will also have some hard copies available through shows.

PSAB: You changed your band name from Love On The Lips Of A Whore. Why did you decide to make the switch?

TH: We changed the name because all things come to an end and all things begin again. We decided when we revamped the lineup and changed the style a bit, we went with a new name that was simple yet described the change in everything.

PSAB: What is the metal scene like in Monrovia, CA

TH: Well all members are from the surrounding areas like Jimmy and Alex are from La Puente, John and I are from Monrovia and Josh is from Glendora but we started out in a garage from Monrovia so I guess its from those roots. The scene used to be thriving before with local bands like 99 Rounds and No Kills and Foresworn but those bands are gone so the scene is pretty dead here but we still have some close friends!

PSAB: How's the experience been with being signed to Afflicted Records?

TH: Its been great! All the bands support each other and Shawn has been our biggest help with everything we dream to accomplish. We had a fear that this album would never see daylight but he made sure that it would get out there and to the ears of those who want to hear it. We love it! Its like a big family!

PSAB: Any shout outs to give?

TH: We'd like to thank Afflicted Records, our families and friends for their support, all the bands we have played with and been close with, and last but definitely not least, all our fans who have been their since LOTLOAW days to the ones who just listened to us today. We thank you all. Thanks to Pig Squeals and Breakdowns for the interview, we appreciate it and have mad respect for you
