Interview with When Autumn Follows!

Genre(s): Hardcore/Metal
Location: Campbelltown

PSAB: Why did you choose the name "When Autumn Follows" for your band?

WAF: Choosing our name was a big decision for the band. We didn't want your typically names with killing, murder or anything like that in it and the band's name actually ended up being a harder decision than writing music for us. We kind of just stumbled across some ideas of names and we just ended up putting "When Autumn Follows" together. We liked the way it sounded and we felt it just suited us as a band.

PSAB: Your EP Broken Dreams is set to release in January. What can we expect from this EP?

WAF: We have been working on this EP for nearly 2 years now and we have put everything into this. The EP will inc. 6 songs and we are hoping for a lot of positive feedback from it. You can expect some heavy breakdowns along with a mixture of low and high screams, Catchy riffs and choruses with singing in sections, Some insane drum work and maybe an acoustic song... "Broken Dreams" is set for release on the 24/01/15 and we are so excited for everyone to finally here what we have been working on.

PSAB: If you could feature one artist on one of your songs, which artist would that be?

WAF: Well on our second track of the EP we actually have a guest vocalist "Aidan Willis" from a local band "Life Beyond". Aidan is a great mate of ours and an amazing vocalist who we always wanted to feature on one of our songs. Picking another vocalist would be a hard decision for us because we all have different artists we like but it would be a choice between Winston McCall, Jeremy McKinnon or Jeffrey Wellfare. These artist have giving the band some many inspirations and have helped us grow as musicians.

PSAB: How's the metal scene in Campbelltown?

WAF: Campbelltown is producing some of the best hardcore music around NSW at the moment. There are some amazing bands coming through that we have had the privilege to play alongside and we feel that it will only get bigger and better.

PSAB: What country would you tour if you had the choice of any one of them?

WAF: As a band we would love the chance to tour the world. Meeting new people and showing the world our music is what we are all about as a band, but the main places we would love to tour first is America, Europe and Japan.

PSAB: Have any shout outs to give to the readers?

WAF: We just want to thank Pig Squeals and Breakdowns for taking the time to interview us. We would also like to thank all our friends and family for supporting us as a band and helping us achieve our goals. We want to thank Wil Stinson from One Eight Oh Recordings for recording, mixing and mastering our EP. And finally we just want to thank our endorsers Voiceless Clothing.
